Cox Media is looking for a strategic and results-oriented Sales Services Specialist to assist assigned sales consultants in developing client advertising media solutions for accounts with medium to high revenue potential. Specialists coordinate and troubleshoot the acquisition and fulfillment of advertising orders for those accounts.

Reporting to the Manager of Media Sales Services, Specialists collaborate with sales consultants to build customer needs analysis data, and develop basic proposal schedules for existing clients. Role strategizes with sales consultants to increase fulfillment results and revenue generation to fit within the client’s goals and objectives. Position also takes responsibility for troubleshooting and working to solve complex internal and external customer problems.

Primary Responsibilities

Collaborate to Develop Client Solutions

  • Collaborate with sales consultants to provide fulfillment expertise in the development of client solutions which include advertising campaigns with multiple fulfillment avenues and complicated schedules involving a large number of channels that broadcast to multiple geographic areas
  • Effectively develop basic and non-complex schedule proposals in View32 based on product mix, inventory availability, rating information, and rate card information for existing clients.
  • Applies effective fulfillment techniques in reviewing incoming orders to maximize open inventory, cost per point, ratings, and rate card pricing. Works independently and collaboratively with sales partner to maximize fulfillment potential.
  • Accurately submit all advertising orders including digital media (online product, VOD, Interactive), local origination channel (LO), production, and various billing orders using the appropriate fulfillment processes and systems
  • Ensure that approved advertising copy is submitted into the system, and corrected if necessary; updates or troubleshoots ad copy and locates previously used spot IDs and copy media, as needed. Troubleshoot and update as necessary
  • Collaborate with sales consultants to provide follow-up information and post-campaign details to clients
  • Support the client through contacting to obtain information or by informing them about schedule changes, responding to questions, solving their schedule-related problems, and handling any other requests by phone or in person.

Grow the Business

  • Grow the business through up-selling in line with client goals and objectives and previously agreed-upon client solution, especially in conjunction with make-goods
  • Proactively schedules and facilitates Account Strategy and Account Fulfillment meetings with Sales Consultant partners to discuss revenue generation and fulfillment improvement opportunities.
  • Set-up new client accounts and client billing using appropriate systems
  • Monitors key business reports to gauge the successful fulfillment of client contracts. Initiates and takes action as needed to engage client and sales consultants in modifications, changes, and/or client notifications needed.

Problem Solving

  • Investigate and resolve credit holds and misapplied payments, along with maintaining records and keeping balance on all trade accounts
  • Initiate and take action as needed to engage sales consultants in modifications, changes, and/or client notifications needed
  • Investigates pre-empted spots, and applies solutions selling skills with understanding of client buy to submit make-good solutions for approval. Works directly with client or sales consultant for approved solution and processes make-goods into the system.


Qualifications



Minimum

• 2 or more years of experience preferred in related field (customer service, sales support, media sales, etc.)

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications as well as working knowledge of database applications

• Excellent skills in adaptability, applied learning, collaboration, delivering customer service, formal presentations,  high impact communication, initiating action, problem solving and troubleshooting, quality orientation, reasoning, self-organizing, and written communication, in order to work effectively with teams throughout organization.

Preferred

• AS/AA or Technical Certification in related discipline strongly desired (sales, advertising or marketing)

• Experience in telecommunications industry desired

• Experience as a media buyer or planner, doing advertising agency work, working in a client side marketing or public relations role, or some combination of these
