Business Development Consultant - COX MEDIA

The Business Development Consultant is Cox Media’s true “hunter” role and we are looking for a high-performing, self-motivated sales professional who knows how to find and close new business through successful outbound techniques.
The mission of Cox Media is to help local businesses of all sizes connect with their customers through the most engaging advertising platforms and technologies available.  We hire energetic, passionate sales professionals who represent the most reputable brands in the industry including ESPN, AMC, FX, Bravo and many more.   Our digital product offerings allow us to reach targeted audiences using geo-conversion zones, keyword and search retargeting, video pre-roll and location-based audience segments.

Responsibilities:
  • Generate new business using prospecting, networking, cold-calling and social media to achieve and exceed sales goals 
  • Navigate through organizations doing deep discovery and sell to multiple decision makers
  • Partner with Media Consultant to prepare for and co-present multi-media ad campaign proposals and negotiate expectations, terms, conditions, and pricing of advertising products and services
  • Sell digital advertising and marketing solutions customized to each client's needs, from the Cox Media product suite that includes on-air commercials, online video, social media placements and mobile marketing solutions
  • Responsible for achieving budgeting and forecasting individual revenue growth
  • Increase knowledge of sales and product offerings through provided on-going training
  • Attend industry and networking events to represent Cox Media in the local business community and build awareness and engagement

Qualifications



QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
  • 1+ years of sales or marketing experience (cable, broadcast, digital or advertising a plus)  
  • Team player with proven track record of finding new business and achieving/exceeding individual sales goals
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Valid driving license, good driving record and reliable transportation
Preferred
  • BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired (business, advertising or marketing)
  • Ability to multitask, manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team-oriented environment
  • Interactive Advertising Bureau Certification
