Cox Communications, Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE) is looking for a Data Engineer to join the Data Engineering team. This role will be responsible for data engineering implementations. The Data Engineer is required to have strong development and systems skills to enable analytics solution development and delivery at scale.
Perform data engineering implementations including data ingestion, data models, data structures, data storage, high-throughput data processing, data pipelines, and data monitoring at scale.
Follow data engineering best practices with considerations for high data availability, computational efficiency, cost, and quality.
Build and maintain environments, processes, functionalities, and tools to support all stages of analytics solution development, e.g., proof of concepts, prototypes, and production.
Maintain frameworks for transitioning analytics solutions at different maturity levels between data science and operational teams.
Automate manual processes into repeatable capabilities.
Create and maintain containers to deploy analytics applications in cloud-based and on-prem platforms.
Test new technologies, tools, and data.
Keep up-to-date on new technologies, standards and practices.
Expertise in (at least one) SQL language and Python. Experience with writing complex programs, implementing architectures in these environments.
Strong programming skills and ability to utilize a variety of software/languages/tools; e.g., Spark, R, Python, Scala, Java, C++, Hadoop, Hive, SQL, SAS, Tableau, etc.
Familiarity with TensorFlow, Keras, Caffe, MXNet, Spark MLlib.
Experience working in cloud environments such as Google, Microsoft, or Amazon.
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Chef.
Strong communication skills. Ability to translate business needs to technical requirements. Ability to work in a diverse team.
Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering or closely related field. Ph.D. strongly preferred.
Experience in data visualization solutions and data visualization tools.
